Pandit Birendra Kumar Panda, a renowned vedic scholard, a social reformer a familiar face in every home, preaching vedic culture and tradition in every part of the state for about 45 years, a regular spokesman in “Sarbe Bhabantu Sukhina” programme of OTV Channel, “Upanishadara Upakatha” in Prathana Channel who discusses upon issues like vedic culture, social superstition and its eradicdation, moral standards and behaviour, noble attributes leading to happy and peaceful life is the founder of Dayananda Education Trust as well as Dayananda Adarsh Gurukul. He works hard with his sweat and blood for resurrection of our ancient culture and Gurukul learning system. He is the Architect to bring the DAG to its present shape.
Acharya Dharmaraj, an enterprising determined young Brahmachari after being educated from Gurukul Amsena, Khariar Road, Bolangir one among other Trustees accepted a life of celebacy, dedicated with great devotion for all round development of DAG adorns the chair of the principal. In spite of envious competition in the locality, DAG in its initiation into the field of education has been able to get sixty students admitted into classes from LKG to std. III.
Among other trustees, Sri Hari Kishan Chandak, a chartered accountant of repute is the treasurer of the trust. Financial affairs of the trust are safe in his hands.
Sri Pratap Kumar Pattanaik a retired defence personnel, much experienced in the line of English Medium Education is fully devoted to guide the students as well as the teachers. His strict personal supervision and guidance leads the institution in its right perspective. All the new concepts, educational activity and findings of research scholars are being implemented by Sri Pattnaik in Gurukul.
In association with good personalities and well wishers, DAG uses its best endevours to promote the career and moral standards of the students. DAG persistently working hard to became a poineer instutiton in the arena of education and to build the students in a unique way they can be eligible for all the administrative and technical services in state and national level with deep sense of credibility to serve the society without corruption and nepotism.
Six teachers at present are engaged to take care of the studies of the students. As enshrined in the Deed, the Trust has made all out efforts to run the residential schooling system from the coming session 2023-24 in order to materialise the exact objectives of a Gurukul. Construction of residential building (Hostel) for the students from Std. VI onwards is steadily progressing to reach its completion by the end of December 2022.
Besides the curriculum, the students of the Gurukul practice Yajna in the Yanja Mandap at regular intervals. Everyday satsang among the inmates of Gurukul also takes place in the evening.
Apart from rendring modern education, the Trust also proposes to impart exclusive spiritual education comprising study of the Vedas, Upanishads, Sanskrit Grammer by Maharshi Panini, Darshan Sastras (Six schools of Indian Thought) Satyartha Prakash, an immortal book by Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati and all other subjects in the line to a separate group of Bhramhacharies as a gesture of perpetuating Indian Culture and tradition.
Moreover, the Trust has introduced a scheme named as “Banaprasthi Sadhak Ashram” providing well furnished one Bed Room with Kitchen, Toilet and wide verenda for those who desier to do Sadhana, Yajna, spiritual discourses (Satsang) in presence of saints and vedic scholars in a calm and peaceful area of scenic beauty at latter part of their life. Financial help in this behalf shall be gladly accepted by the trust. Undoubtedly participation of more and more spiritually inclined people in the mission will excel the spirit of the trust to enlarge its activities.
English Medium Schools run by private bodies charge exorbitant fees beyond tehe reach of common people for admission of their children into the institution. In constrast, DAG never charge any development or other fees to compensate its establishment expenditure except a nominal amount towards tuition fees although it thrives on co-operation of kind, helpful and generous people. To put it in a nutshell, the trust has no other source of income other than donation from the well wishers.
Dayananda Education Trust strongly believes in sacrifice to build the nation rather than epicurism. Indeed it sincerely follows a great sayaing “Let us sacrifice our today, so that our children can have a better tomorrow.”
